I am a software engineer by trade. I have worked for several companies in and around Toronto, and have experience with several programming languages, including C++, Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP, SQL, ElasticSearch.

I'm Russian, born in '88, read almost all of Dostoyevsky in the original language. I have been interested in philosophy my whole life. Read all major classical works of philosophy, like Kant's critiques, tons of Heidegger lectures.

The greatest writer in philosophy is Schopenhauer, the most overrated is Nietzsche, the most badass is Wittgenstein, the most impenetrable is Husserl (not Hegel), the most gothic is Derrida, Schelling is the most underrated. Descartes is the best place to start with philosophy, Lacan is the worst.

I am also very well read in history (prefer modern history over the ancients because it is difficult to know how much of ancient history has been falsified/distorted over the centuries), read 3-volume history of capitalism work by Braudel (as well as his 2-volume set on the mediterranean), 4-volume work by Wallerstein on the world-system.

I am super fit athlete, can do 10 muscle ups, backlever, breakdance, 6 pack abs. I agree with Plato that when you become physically stronger your mind also becomes stronger.
