It's unexpectedly snowing... in the midst of April
The delivery of Easter eggs has been assigned to Santa
06:38
@VLAZ Due to egg prices and the whole world situation, everyone just gets coal ;-)
06:54
@Tinkeringbell is that why the SmokeDetector keeps going off :P
If everyone is using their coal and the world is on fire... makes sense, doesn't it?
Yep. When life gives you lemons coal, make lemonade a lot of smoke.
Are the community bumps more frequent than before? They definitely feel more frequent. Unless I just never noticed them as much. This is as of a couple of days ago.
OK, it's most definitely more frequent - 16 on the 5th of April (and no data in SEDE for this week yet). The previous bumps are three in February (one per day on three days), then before that two in December (again one per day), then before that one in November, no in October, one in September. In fact, there were 17 bumps for the entire last year.
Granted, some questions might have been deleted since they were bumped, so they won't show up. But the frequency is definitely higher now. As of last Saturday, for some reason.

Hmm, possible.

intriguing scenario. Please, don't focus on the specific case/question but on the scenario as a whole
Most sites don't have version specific tags
Due to a patch to the game, my answer to this question became obsolete.
I edited it, added a disclaimer that I will leave it as is for historical purposes (since there is already an updated answer and I don't want to "steal" its rep). All good so far.
....At least until you notice that the question specifically point to the pre-update game UI
That is... the question would not make sense in the current version of the game, since the premise doesn't exist here (since capital ship teleports are now two-way the game UI has no reason to call them one-way anymore. Therefore, no one would ask how to teleport back in the current version of the game because the option simply works out-of-the-box)

Fun fact: Updates breaking Q&As and workflows was introduced in the 1.17.2 update.
and if this is not clear enough...
WASABI KitKat
@ꓢPArcheon wasn't there a proposal for hierarchical sub-tags so one can easier add specific versions for such cases?
@A-Tech oh, I foresee a similar scenario would quickly degenerate in an edit war.
The old answer user would edit the question to make it version specific (since the question only makes sense in the original game context prior to the update) while the new answer user would want to keep the question version agnostic in order to be able to post their answer (even if the answer technically doesn't make sense in the original context) and claim that the OP never had a specific version in mind
Extreme example: A quick search on Google showed that during the Open Beta / prerelase period the mmorpg Divinity: Original Sin included a global chat channel that was removed in the final release.
08:44
@ꓢPArcheon I would try this if t was veggie
During the beta someone could ask "Can I disable the global chat" and you may answer "no, you can't". Then, after the release someone comes and says "The chat has been removed and hence there is no need to disable it"
The new answer technically is a valid answer now, but I would say it doesn't answer the question since the question would simply not exist in the current version.
Therefore, the question would be implicitly tied to the old version of the game.
Go, try to explain "implicit version specific" to the new users that wants their upvotes.
And this isn't even taking domesticated moderation into account but I would expect that to be a big issue too.

...if you're wondering why Smokey is reporting so much here, it probably has something to do with autoflags failing massively after the migration to the cloud:
(the blue line is failed attempts to autoflag a post)
And so since autoflags aren't working, the spam sticks around much longer (and hits the 5-minute threshold for being reported here).

Okay, that's too much spam.
Behold, my early inheritance. Polishing that is going to be soooo satisfying.
(the bright spot is where I tried it out... it works like a charm)

Yep :D
That's 'the good stuff'.
I read worse reviews on some Dutch 'store' brands. ;-)

@Spevacus hey that was a nice surprise to see you there this morning. Thanks for chatting with us man!
@Wollzy Of course! Was great chatting with y'all :)
I hope I answered questions reasonably well :^)
Nah man you did great. Way better than I would have :-D
@Spevacus I see multiple internal Slack threads "Best guest speaker ever! Can we do more of those?" You might be creating a new trend here. :)
Glad to hear it!
Context for the room: I was invited to speak at Stack Exchange's internal virtual meetup today and do a big Q&A. It was a great time.

For example: "That was literally the most valuable hour I think I've had since starting here. Would love to see this be a permanent meetup feature. " ;)

@Spevacus How was it for you? I know Balpha coming in with the hot question at the end, but curious what you thought about the questions and the experience.
16:15
@EmmaBee It was a great time. I really enjoyed the questions from you guys in the chat. I think the question from balpha is less "hot" and more... One that I would really, really need to think about an answer for, and we were running short on time.
True true.
Glad to hear it!
16:43
@Spevacus And they picked you!? Good for them, that's an excellent choice!
