I am a retired software developer. My first program was in FORTRAN IV in 1968, doing scientific calculations about the oxygen demand in a river. Since then, I've worked mainly in embedded systems for pipeline measurement and control. I began working with C++ when Borland released Turbo C++ in 1990.
In the '90s, I wrote for programming language magazines. In the mid-2010s, I wrote for Hackaday.com, focusing on using C++ for embedded systems. In 2023 and 2024, I presented at CppNorth and CppCon on the ranges library.
I keep writing C++ code to keep my retired brain active. I'm on LinkedIn and Bluesky.
