I'm V2Blast (he/him). I was formerly an Associate Community Manager for Stack Exchange's Community Engagement and Enablement Team (2021–2023), and an elected (diamond) moderator on the Role-Playing Games Stack Exchange site before that (2019–2021).
I've worked in community management and content moderation for the last few years, and been a volunteer moderator for various communities across a variety of platforms for most of the past decade. I've been around the Stack Exchange network for several years, and have spent much of my time on the Role-Playing Games Stack Exchange.
See y'all around the network!

After 16 years, we’re renewing the Brand (As Haney's answer says, for too long the company was paralyzed by fear that the community would basically reject any change, even if some kind of change was necessary. Working with the community to create that plan of how to move forward, rather than just bringing an established plan to the community and having it be rejected, seems to be an improvement for both sides.) |

After 16 years, we’re renewing the Brand I imagine part of the point of this post is to gauge what level of change, in terms of branding, the community is willing to accept. That said, I do agree that the company needs to start with its own goal behind the rebranding, and then work with the community to find something we're okay with. But I can also see this post as an attempt to understand what the community wants out of the branding, and reconcile it with the company's own plans. |

After 16 years, we’re renewing the Brand I really like the ideas presented here. The SE network sites are and should remain (somewhat) independent communities and sites, but under a shared banner. They should all, as mentioned, be branded in some way as part of the broader SE network – a shared platform, a shared philosophy, but each still their own site. Obviously the details of what exactly that branding should look like, especially as it extends to Teams, etc., can still be worked out, but your underlying point is solid. |

Username in chat room info title bar may be partially, or completely, hard to see depending on the window width, chat room and browser @Carrott: Mind posting an answer confirming that it's been fixed (and ideally explaining what was changed/how it was fixed), so the question doesn't show up as unanswered? |

Do you gain current HP when you level up? ...Such a limitation by the DM can make sense for ease of bookkeeping (e.g. not having to figure out whether you have access to certain new features yet, or whether you can use your additional spell slot/use of Rage/etc. right away), so I totally understand DMs doing it. My point is that I don't see this answer as counterintuitive unless you already expect there to be such limitations that aren't actually stated in the rules. |

Do you gain current HP when you level up? @Caleth: Not sure what part of my statement that's meant to disagree with. Of course the DM can decide when to let characters level up; my point is merely that there's no rule saying characters only level up when they take a long rest, so DMs adding that extra limitation is the only thing that would make this answer counterintuitive. (For instance, some of my DMs have used a story-based/milestone advancement system, so when we reach a certain point in the story, we're told we will level up - but the DM rules that we don't actually get those benefits until we take a long rest.) |
